Hookahs, Shisha, Coals and Every Part to Keep a Session Going
Hookahs lined up on top of the cases, shisha in the flavors people ask for, and coals, hoses and bowls at the counter. Open until midnight in Arlington.

Hookahs on Display
At Smokey Paradise Arlington the hookahs sit right on top of the light wood display cases, a whole row of them, so you can compare heights, colors and styles from across the room. Ask for any one and we will take it down so you can check the base, the stem and the hose connection up close.
Hookah is a lane people usually shop for with friends, and usually in the evening. That is a big part of why our late hours matter: the Arlington shop is open until midnight every night, so if you run out of coals or shisha halfway through the night, you can still get more.
Shisha contains nicotine. All hookah tobacco is sold to adults 21 and up only, with a valid ID checked on every visit.

Setting Up a Good Session
Most bad hookah sessions come down to one of four things.
Water Level
Fill the base so the stem sits about an inch under the water. Too much water makes it hard to pull; too little makes it harsh.
Packing the Bowl
Fluff the shisha and sprinkle it in loosely, leaving a small gap below the rim. Packed too tight, it will not draw.
Heat
Start with fewer coals and add more if needed. Too much heat burns the shisha and turns the flavor harsh.
Clean Hose and Base
Rinse the base and stem after every session. Old water and residue are the fastest way to ruin a flavor.
Coal Safety
Light coals outdoors or under a vent, on a burner made for it, and handle them only with tongs. Never light coals in a closed room or a car, and never leave lit coals unattended. Let used coals cool completely in a metal container before you throw them away.
Keep shisha, coals and lighters out of reach of children and pets.

Where to Find Us
The Arlington shop at 1101 E Bardin Rd Ste 121 is open every day from 8 AM to midnight, just off I-20 at Collins Street. The Farmers Branch shop on Josey Lane carries hookah supplies too; check its page for hours.

Choosing a Hookah
What to look at when you take one down off the case.
Height
Shorter hookahs are easier to carry and store. Taller ones can feel smoother, but they need a stable surface.
Base
Glass bases look great and show the water level; acrylic bases are lighter and harder to break.
Number of Hoses
One hose for personal use, two or more for groups. Unused ports should be sealed for a good draw.
Stem Material
Stainless steel stems resist rust and are easy to clean. Ask us to compare a few side by side.
Cleaning Your Hookah
After every session, empty and rinse the base, run water through the stem, and let everything dry before you put it back together. Once a week or so, give the stem a proper scrub with a long brush. Washable hoses can be rinsed and hung to dry; non-washable hoses should only be blown through to clear them.
A clean hookah tastes better, pulls easier and lasts longer. We carry brushes, replacement grommets and hoses for when parts wear out.
Shisha Freshness
Shisha keeps best sealed in its original container, away from heat and light. Once it is open, press the lid down tightly or move it to an airtight jar so it does not dry out. Dry shisha burns fast and tastes harsh; fresh shisha should look moist and smell strongly of its flavor.
If you are planning a session for a group, ask at the counter how much shisha and how many coals to bring. It is easy to run short halfway through the night.
Hookah Supplies Near You
Running out of coals halfway through the night is the classic hookah problem, and it is why the Arlington shop's midnight closing time matters. It is about fifteen minutes from Grand Prairie and downtown Arlington, and about fourteen from Kennedale. For north Dallas County, the Farmers Branch shop is the closer stop for Farmers Branch, Carrollton and Addison.
